Our Story

Sayee Leathers began with a dream to hand-craft leather into beautiful, clever, practical things. Founded in Chennai, India in 1991 by Senthil- just out from college after completing his Master of Technology (M.tech) in Leather Technology, in association with Dorai- hailing from a family involved in leather business for many decades- with just 6 workers, the company grew under their vision to become a very successful organization employing more than 230 workers.

Currently Sayee Leathers has three manufacturing units in Chennai, with a total covered area of 26000 sq.ft. The one at Madipakkam is our main unit which is exclusively for small leather goods, in Nerkundram we produce ladies bags and portfolios, and the third factory at Alandur is our new branch in which we produce ladies hand bags.

We don’t compromise. Sayee uses only the very best materials available in the market. We choose the highest quality leather, imported hardware, industrial strength rivets & snaps and YKK zippers. We also use Gütermann thread for secure seams and optimal colour matching. The company has chosen only the state-of-the-art sewing machines from Juki for its products, including a computerised stitching machine. The cutting is done both by hand and semi-automatic clicking machines. The factory manufactures 10000 units of large leather goods (bags/duffle bags/briefcases etc.) and 5000 units of small leather goods (wallets/ passport cases/ travel wallets/ portfolios/ stationery/ tech accessories etc.) per month. The patterns are made both manually and by the latest CAD software for accuracy and perfection. From fashion forecasts to leather selection, Sayee works with its customers listening to ideas and developing ideas into product reality. Our designers merge the aesthetics of the new world, while our craftsmen merge the tradition of the old world into a single, amazing product. Sayee's products are exported mainly to The USA, along with Germany, Spain and Australia. Our patrons are people who appreciate quality leather products and a great business relationship.
